Introduction of law
This subject is lectured by Ms Anita Shoba Magimay. The aim of this subject is allow future Quantity Surveyor can become a wise guy in the construction. It will make us won't get fraud by other people of including in the construction company or site. There are 3 main things we have been learnt are Contract Law, Malaysia Legal System and Tort. 


Reflection
This subject is necessary to be our core subject. The reason is this subject can increases the knowledge about the law for us. 

In conclusion, Ms Anita is a very patient lecturer, she won't feel any unhappy when a student keep go and asking her about questions. 

Measurement I

Introduction of Measurement I
   Measurement I enables me to interpret clauses in the Standard Method of Measurement (SMM), adopt a systematic approach to take-off quantities from drawings for the preparation of Bills of Quantities, visualize and understand details from drawing, produce measurement according to the SMM and evaluate relationship between specification.This module covers the measurement of foundation, floor slab, ground beam and roof beam.

Assignment 1

This assignment need 5 people to formed a group. We had about 1 months to finish this assignment. This assignment is divided to 5 parts which means 5 person per part. The 5 parts are pad footing, work below underground, ground beam, roof beam, column and upper roof beam.

  I had been given for measure the column and upper roof beam. I used about 2 weeks to finished my own part.

Reflection

In this subject, I learnt about how to measure the work below underground, BRC, ground beams, upper roof beams. They are very important things we need to measure when become a Qs's in the future. 

In conclusion, Sr.Ang Fuey Lin is a very friendly and good lecturer. This is a must subject to become a Quantity surveyor.   

Construction Technology I

Introduction of Construction Technology I

This module intends to provide understanding of a wide range of building components with different functions. It also describes the design process, how to build the elements and some simple sketches. Student will undergo continuous assessments such as assignments and tests to ascertain the objectives and to make sure that the learning outcome of the module is achieved. Our Construction Technology I 's lecturer is Ms.Azrina Binti Md Yaakob.

Assignment 1

In this assignment, we need to form a maximum 6 people group. We had few tasks to do this assignment. Firstly, we need to Illustrate the type of the building with plan / sketches / photo / diagrams. Secondly, Identify and explain the (i) type of foundation, (ii) type of slab and (iii) type of roof of the building with sketches / photo / diagrams. Thirdly, Compare and contrast with TWO (2) other types and recommend an alternative to replace the existing type of (i) foundation, (ii) slab, (iii) roof.

Reflection

In this subject, i learnt explain the principles and practices of construction technology in residential buildings and to work generally of a more complex nature, describe the definition of precise functional requirements, appraise implementation of erection, explain the construction of buildings and the scientific principles which underpin the design and construction.

  In the class, we had some small presentation about Construction Technology I, such as formwork. Besides that, we also did many tutorials question in the class. It can impress our mind what we learnt in lecture.

In conclusion, Ms.Azrina is a good and kind lecturer. This subject is useful.

 

Building Materials

   
Introduction of Building Materials
This module intends to inform the students the relevant physical and chemical properties of a wide range of building materials. It also encompasses the broad environmental debate by including energy saving and recycled materials. For each material, the module describes the manufacturing process, salient properties and typical uses of these materials, with aims of ensuring their appropriate application within the awareness of the suitability of the physical and chemical properties as well as ecological impact. Student will undergo a series of continuous assessment such as assignment, test and final exam to ascertain the learning outcomes of the module are achieved. Our lecturer of Building Materials is Ms.Myzatul Aishah Binti Kamarazaly.

Assignment 1
This assignment is a group assignment, the maximum people are 2. Lim Chern Yie and I formed a group. The task of this assignment is need to find a place in the campus and differentiate the at least 5 types of building materials inside the place. After that, we need to captured some pictures of the certain materials and paste it into the board. This assignment need to present infront of the lecturer.


Reflection
  In this subject, i know how to explain the use, physical and chemical properties of the type of building materials, summarise the effect of building materials on construction and structural, qualities,analyse problems associated with different materials used.

  In conclusion, our building materials' lecturer is a good lecturer because she treated every students as her friends. This subject is very useful. It made me learnt a lot of knowledge about building materials.
