This module intends to provide understanding of a wide range of building
components with different functions. It also describes the design process, how
to build the elements and some simple sketches. Student will undergo continuous
assessments such as assignments and tests to ascertain the objectives and to
make sure that the learning outcome of the module is achieved. Our Construction Technology I 's lecturer is Ms.Azrina Binti Md Yaakob.
Assignment 1
In this assignment, we need to form a maximum 6 people group. We had few tasks to do this assignment. Firstly, we need to Illustrate the type of the building with plan /
sketches / photo / diagrams. Secondly, Identify and explain the (i) type of foundation,
(ii) type of slab and (iii) type of roof of the building with sketches / photo
/ diagrams. Thirdly, Compare and contrast with TWO (2) other types
and recommend an alternative to replace the existing type of (i) foundation,
(ii) slab, (iii) roof.
Reflection
In this subject, i learnt explain
the principles and practices of construction technology in residential
buildings and to work generally of a more complex nature, describe
the definition of precise functional requirements, appraise
implementation of erection, explain
the construction of buildings and the scientific principles which underpin the
design and construction.
In the class, we had some small presentation about Construction Technology I, such as formwork. Besides that, we also did many tutorials question in the class. It can impress our mind what we learnt in lecture.
In conclusion, Ms.Azrina is a good and kind lecturer. This subject is useful.
